How did you get into radio?

In my Grade 11 year in high school at Holy Family College, whilst being Deputy Head Boy. I spearheaded a radio station in my school. I used the schools PA system, which was a microphone, and a speaker. Using that and a mini hifi, I started the schools first radio radio station, with me at the helm as presenter and station manager. I pitched the station to the schools principal, and we had three shows. The breakfast show in the morning, the second show during first break with another presenter, and afternoon drive show during second break. The radio station would broadcast to the school from a designated class room, playing music, giving birthday shout outs, important school news, and lots of laughs!

What do you love about working with 919?

I love being able to craft an Identity of a radio show. The 919 top 40 is a brand new show. The first time 919 has a Chart show. Being the first one to do it, is laying precedent and creating an orginal sound and benchmark for The top 40 show at the station.

If we say Joburg, what comes to mind?

Melting pot of music, colour, and culture.

Where are you based, and what’s the route you travel to get to the station?

Craigavon. I travel along from the far North of Joburg on William Nicol drive all the way down until Sandton Drive, where I then connect into the heart of Sandton.

What do you get up to when you’re not doing your show / working at 919?

Gym. Connecting with friends. Travelling. Going on Safari's. House gatherings. Barbecues. Pool Parties.

Who are your favourite artists and genres?

Beyonce and the genre is Beyonce!
